Low Expectations by a retired "Elite"
Nothing much to see with your sponsors. The one your negotiating with is low expectation so I guess that’s where you will be.
Read up on our sponsor stacking topic, that’s how I play with sponsors.
I did have a look at other things though. Now here’s where we differ and I’m sure I differ from most here but I believe
it’s why I had £200 million last season....
.... I noticed you was 100% on 7 car parts after previous race and you replaced them all at £21 million or so, now personally
I wouldn’t have replaced any !!!! Why you ask? Well whenever it’s time to replace parts my first thought is always ‘how can I
get away with not spending money here’ that’s how I’ve always been and that’s how you have to be in gpro, certainly in higher
leagues, you’ve got to get every last possible bit out of parts, gpro forces you to do that.
We had someone leave our team because our car wear data was not perfect but 1% out sometimes, I scoffed at first but then I
understood why because in Master were he was and wanted to be you got to be perfect in car parts to keep a healthy balance.
So how would I have not replaced parts?? Well because Amateur was secure and you bought level 5 parts when previously you had
level 6 parts so then I would have downgraded to level 4 for the race THEN bought level 5 after. I look to downgrade whenever
possible in amateur unless it’s promotion time, if a part predicts it’s 115% after a race then I’ll downgrade even if it’s 100%
after downgrade I’ll chance a bit of smoke...that’s how I’ve always played.
Now I understand you want success and the buzz of doing well, of course I understand that and your pushing to boost sponsor
progress but to be honest sponsor progress is marginal and pushing for success constantly when not looking to promote is not
cost effective in amateur even if you think it is. I’ve read forum topics and watched top managers in my previous groups and
they do what I do and that’s only push when either promoting or doing the 1 big push race, the rest of the time I go zero CT
and get a buzz out of seeing how high I can go, generally with least amount of stops too so I have fun watching people pit
when I have plenty of tyre wear left and gain positions that way. I guess I’m methodical in how I plan seasons.
So anyway your not earning money and dodging debt so your going wrong somewhere and I believe you have spent so much on car parts
through testing to get your driver to a good level but now you don’t have much time with him because talent and TI was always too high.
Personally I would stop testing, do a rest of the season plan with zero CT and see how little
part replacement you can get away by downgrading then replacing to stick with level 5,
don’t use boosts unless you have engine wear spare after race 17, if you have part wear
spare then try a rest of the season plan with 10CT.
@niels
Have you considered dropping back to rookie to recoup on money. Technically you could train a project driver next season in amateur
to have a the perfect 85 OA driver when you demote to rookie, then win and make money (finishing rookie with 70+ mil is very achievable
in this scenario), then you get into amateur with a driver that is in very good shape and be able to push on your 2nd amateur season.
I think I would have done that probably if I didn't have so much money accumulated. Just a tough
